AEW Global

Location

Boston, MA

Project type

Office

Working closely with AEW leadership to select the artwork for the new office, with careful consideration not only of its role in the office design, but also how it reflects the values and ethos of AEW. The curated selection of original artwork is located throughout the new office, not as decoration but as mission, a layer to inspire employees with the core values of AEW as a company. As part of the art collection, AEW acquired the HELP Portfolio, which represents 16 artists, each of whom donated a new limited-edition print. All profits from the purchase of the prints went to 16 charities that were underfunded due to the pandemic, each one selected by the artists involved. This had a powerful impact on employees and visitors when the work was installed in 2021. A series of works by artist Charles Gaines titled "Tiergarten Series" was selected for the executive boardroom. Gaines was the first African-American student in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts program, receiving his degree in 1967 and going on to teach at California State University the following year. Additional color-coded original artwork helps with wayfinding throughout the reinvented space.
